" And it came to pass that I Nephi, being exceedingly young, nevertheless being large in stature, and also having great desires to know the mysteries of God, wherefore, I did cry unto the Lord; and behold he did visit me, and did soften my heart that I did believe all the words of my father; wherefore, I did not rebel against him like unto my brothers."
If I have a desire to understand something in my life and "cry unto the Lord" through prayer he can open my heart because of my "great desires" and help me to understand it so that I can believe and have faith to be able to follow the counsel of the prophet, my bishop and other Priestood leaders...including my own Father and Husband.

I love this thought. I've always, okay, not always. Some time a few years ago realized that when I have righteous desires...the Lord WILL fulfill them! It's my faith and diligence in seeking his help that sometimes lack and prevent me from gaining all that he has in store for me. Isn't it so cool to know, though, that if we want somethig that is good and right, the Lord WILL give it to us?!
